How We Re-Roof a House in a Single Day
A one-day re-roof comes down to preparation. Tiles, battens, membrane and ridge are all on site before we start, the scaffold is up and checked, and there are enough of us on the roof to strip one section while the next is already being set out. That way your roof is never left open overnight, and you are not living under tarpaulins while the job drags on for a week.
On this Cwm terrace we laid breathable membrane and new treated battens, then fitted grey interlocking concrete tiles that lock tight in their laps and shed water quickly. Along the top we used a dry ridge system: every ridge tile is screwed and clipped down instead of sitting in a bed of mortar, so there is no pointing to crack and wash out in the valley weather.
